To apply, individuals must be referred through a case manager or support coordinator with Oklahoma Human Services (OKDHS) or a Developmental Disabilities Services (DDS) provider. If you're unsure how to start, our team is happy to assist you with next steps or connect you to the appropriate resources.
Job Coaching provides one-on-one support at the workplace to help individuals succeed in a paid job. A trained Job Coach assists with learning tasks, building confidence, and navigating workplace expectations. Over time, as the individual becomes more independent, the coach gradually steps back, encouraging self-reliance and long-term success.
Our participants work in diverse industries including retail stores, restaurants, healthcare facilities, hospitality, manufacturing, and office settings. Job placements are based on individual interests, abilities, and career goals. We partner with employers throughout Muskogee and surrounding communities to create opportunities that match each person's unique skills.
Program duration varies based on individual needs and goals. Some participants complete training in a few weeks, while others benefit from several months of skill development. Our team creates personalized timelines that allow each person to progress at their own pace while working toward employment objectives.
While we don't directly provide transportation, our case managers work with participants and families to develop transportation solutions. We also consider job locations during placement to ensure accessibility and can connect individuals with community transportation resources.
Our support doesn't end at placement. Job coaches maintain regular contact with both employees and employers, providing intervention and additional training as needed. If challenges arise, we work collaboratively to identify solutions, whether through additional coaching, workplace accommodations, or modified responsibilities.
Absolutely. Family involvement is encouraged throughout the process. We hold regular meetings to discuss progress, address concerns, and celebrate achievements. Family members often provide valuable insights that help us tailor our approach to best support each participant's success.
